Chivalry's not dead

I had almost lost all faith in humanity due to a lot of personal events, lately.
Including the fact that I, myself had gotten sloppy, clumsy, careless and indifferent.
I used to be more responsible and grateful to the people, around me.

Anyways, today's events  (the great june handicap) later, I found that humanity still persists. From doctors to friends, to teachers to acquaintances, someone does care and indeed help. Sometimes, it is ok to ask for help and it is necessary to always help those who care. Do not regret past decisions, just because of a few unfortunate circumstances, in the present.

The life before was lazier and comfortable. The life now is tough and challenging.
I think that's where the excitement lies and satisfaction that emerges after solving such troubles. Troubles come in packs and when they start unfolding, so does our true nature and our personalities.

Fear is followed by pain and solution to that pain is followed by pure Joy.
Anyways, I'm still very incoherent yet happy and am thinking of making a comic to express all these thoughts.

4 Months or Eternity ?

I wasn't having access to PC for quite a while now. 

I finally did get a Macbook Pro. It's quite a beast and I'm still getting used to it. I need to catch up to my Routine.

Meanwhile, first 4 months at NID has been a heck of an Experience.

I've created a new blog to store all my course work. Which means, I'll only use this blog for my hobbies and the usual bullshitting.


Sketchwise, I'm falling behind. My current idea is to start catching up on #Inktober, which means I'll have to make 2 sketches per day.

Anyways, here's a comic that I made during the Buddy Week at NID, which was a gift to one of the Seniors here. Also made a tiny bow and arrow, which is one of my first DIYs.

Hoping to share 10 Sketches for Inktober by next Sunday.

Back from the Dead Yet more Alive than Ever

February was the last time I posted ?!?
It's been a Hell of a past few months, since Feb...

After a lot of twists and turns and a lot of pain and gratifications...
Thankfully it hasn't all been in vain... I got into a D-School which I had Aspired for, since 2 Years...

It was ecstatic and painful, at the same time... When I learnt that I got in... The Irony !
A lot of my close-friends helped me and I'm really very grateful to them for reaching out, during these tough times... (woa, it hasn't been so worse.. I do make things worse than they actually are.. Don't I? )

Anyways, during all this time, I've been working on countless stuff...
Yet I'm a Novice and I understand that I still have a long long way to go..

I've been lost the last couple of days due to constant worrying and anxiety due to these big-changes... But the dust is now settling.. Hopefully, I can focus and resume what I love doing..

A Lot of Ideas have started popping in my head.. 
"Do this, Do that" I think and finally due to too many unrealistic ideas, I do Nothing...

So, 1 Work at a time.. The Portfolio !
I'm gonna present what I've done during the last few months... Maybe on a separate blog...

If that works, off I go to resume Graphic-Novels... Yes, I have a silly idea for some sketches..

Also, on an ending-note: Helvetica will be my new font of choice !
After all, I'm officially a Design Student now.. .Thanks to a lot of people...  :)

A Lot to Digest

It's been a really tough & hectic week...
I almost feel like I'm writing my final exams.... Ah, the good ol' college days...

But, daily sketching is really helping to alleviate my frustration... 

I realize I've been sketching a lot digitally, lately..
But, I've also been slogging to finish off the comic abt the puppy...

I've completed around 65%,so far... 
As usual, I hope to finish by "next" week xD

On Schedule?

Pretty satisfied, this week... Coz I did do 6 sketches... 

Though I'm lagging on my short Graphic-Novel..

 I'm feeling OK as I'm working on it, pretty much, everyday....

The snake and the guy sketch is based on an idea which actually did happen..

I mean, as I was driving, I saw a snake crossing the street towards a guy who was so busy using his cell, that he did not listen to my loud honks warning him of the snake..

Neither did he realize that he was walking right next to a giant snake...

Well, the snake just disappeared... 

& the guy will never know that he was in trouble, forever....

There was News that a leopard had entered a school..
What would be going thro' the kids minds... 
Would they really want a leopard to hurt their teacher to get a holiday ? 



The Pencil and Paper app by 53 are simply fantastic... 
I heavily underestimated it's beauty..

I came across a lot of awesome-tutorials on using Paper by 53....
This really is pretty detailed and helpful..

Anyways, the above sketch is abt a guy who's space-diving [?]
Just wanted to try a few techniques... 

Watched Deadpool, this weekend.. 

Noted: if your mates do not know a thing abt Deadpool or anything abt comics or any of the smirk references that Deadpool makes at other movies... (like Agent Smith)

Basically, if you watch this movie with people who aren't movie buffs, well then, the movie's gonna be bad for you too .. ;D

A Valentine's day tribute, Mangaloreans will understand the second panel ;D

Anyways, I'm off to watch some tutorials on Material-Design and maybe, work on the Dog's Story.... P.S: I'm on Page 10 now, out of an estimated 20.. so yeah, Milestone... 50%.. :D

The iPad era

As I'm posting this, I'm also frantically searching for the stuff that I've been working on, lately.. I officially wrote my previous post, during the last year.. ;)

I got an iPad, a month ago... Mainly to read comics and to do a bit of sketching...
I almost grew pretty weary of it, quite quickly...

However, not all hope is lost.. :D  
I've been sketching quite more than what I'd actually expected on the iPad and it's awesome !! (though, none of them are worthy of being shared)

Excited, I'd ordered Pencil by 53, a few weeks back and it should be delivered to me, tomorrow...  Anyways, recollecting what I've sketched the last month... 








3 sketches, worthy of sharing (LOL).. 

I wanna hit myself.. Many ideas have slipped my mind and I'm to blame..
 

But, quite honestly, the only thing that's not making me insecure and assuring me that I'm being quite creative is that I'm working on this comic/ graphic-novel, based on the life of a dog.. 


I've not worked on it the last 2 days, due to some genuine reasons.. ;)  (a sort of a game changing week, if you will) But I have finished around 30% of it... 

I had originally intended to finish it Today, so that I'd post it and feel pretty satisfied and mitigate the effects of not posting aka not being creative, for a while.. 




You see, I now perceive blog-posts here as a measure of how productive I've been in a week ;).. So, if I do not post for a long time, it means that I've been a lazy arse and that scares me... Given that it's a whole new year...


As penance, I'm gonna try posting a sketch every day starting tomorrow... No matter how busy I'm gonna be, in addition to posting the Dog's tale, both, by next weekend... 

If I do not do this, I will kick myself... I will literally kick my ass, if I fail to do this... :D

Comic Obsession

Yeah, I have reverted to my age-old comic obsessed self...

Have been reading plenty of em' lately.

Batman: Court/ City of Owls, Saga, Locke n Key, Infinity Gauntlet, Civil War and a lot more..

Planning to get an iPad Air 2 to read more stuff..

A Genuine Excuse

Ok, here I go...  

Had to take a break due to some health problems and some travelling..

Man-o-man... I really am not ready to be a traveler.... 

I've learnt that travelling can really f#&k you up... especially if you're as static as I am...

I can only remember a few sketches that I did since the last time that I posted...  Maybe this is coz I haven't been very productive lately...

Have been focusing more on improving my Inkscape skillset. 

These are a set of water-bubbles rendered on Inkscape and I really enjoyed doing 'em.

I've officially abandoned #Inktober... I'm thinking of making a new book and starting #Sketchember... xD   ok, I agree it sounds lame..

Anyways, I've had a couple of sketch-ideas related to one's feelings on falling sick..  
Guess where I got the ideas from... :/

Watched AntMan and I must say: This movie kicks ass !!

I'm completely hyped for 2016 and the wide range of comic book adaptions to live-action movies..

I'm also reading SAGA... which is another kickass comic that I've ever come across.. 
"The Stalk" is my fav character from this...

Anyways, back to my mission statement - "Gotta be more active".

December has to got be me focusing on Inkscape, more sketches and Bootstrap.. ;D

#Inktober is actually over but not for me, it isn't.

True Detective: The show that I cannot stop talking abt.
Matthew Mcconaughey plays Rust, a captivating character. 

The continuous shot sequence involving him portraying an undercover drug-addict aka Crash was one of my favorite moments in TV-shows, till date.

There was a lot of renovation work at my place which meant no PC, no art, nothing.
This was pretty much how I felt. Bottling up my addictions, rage and fear.

Sketched the Grim-Reaper while watching Constantine.

Absolutely love this artist called: kerbyrosanes who does insanely complex yet funny doodles. Tried something in his style.

Came across this big-ass spider today and I just had to sketch the creepy guy.

Wanted to test out my new Sakura - Manga Kit, and I must say I love the Brush-pen.
This illustration is abt friends who turn foes, as in any bollywood movie. lol

The fact that I nearly spent 5k on these drawing tools dawned over me today.

At the moment, binge watching a couple of shows: Utopia, Constantine, True Detective, Fargo, Rick & Morty and now: Narcos. Which means: More characters to sketch from !

Mr Robot and Terminator

A lot of stuff to think about... 

Where do I begin ? 

Ha ha, this is the narration style from my current favorite show: Mr. Robot

What an amazing show, Not 1 but 3 Twists, towards the end of the season !!

Also, loved the piano cover of "Where is my Mind?".

Anyways, have been  sketching diligently, this week.

Inspired by Angry birds & the feeling that I get everyday while leaving for work, did this:

Watched Terminator: Genisys and I must say: This movie r$%ped the Terminator Franchise, pretty bad. Shaken and Depressed, I ended up watching T2 again.

Inking is Easy

Had thought of painting daily or building an android app..
Wanted to do something creative and be productive every day... 
Being aimless and lazy can be really tiring...

The most successful of all these ideas till date has been: Inktober..
Honestly, Inking comes easily to me and I've been having a lot of fun doing it (The only thing that matters!)

Must say: I skipped a day or two, but I'm still pretty regular at this..



Although, there's another thing: Not so low on Ideas anymore... 
I started this blog to note down ideas for sketches... 

Coz I could never come up with an idea once I sat down to doodle.. 
The blog is now a place to save my sketches..
