Binge Animation

Inactivity strikes again !
Not so much of personal artwork, but have been busy with some Design preparations, from past 2 weeks..

So, what did I do last weekend ?
Ok, it's kinda hard to remember... (I shud keep posting more frequently!)

Batman in a Jacket:

This illustration, of a kid waiting for his brother to repair their vehicle:

Saw this, actually, on my way to work..

Was also working on a page filled with comic-strips (completed last week), did not get time to finish coloring it.. Planning to get it done, this week.

The most fun thing that I did last week: Animating stick figures on an app called FlipaClip.

This takes a lot of time and patience, but the results are pretty awesome..
As a kid, used to do these kinda animations on the corner of  every page of a thick book and then flip the pages... Nostalgia !

Currently, watching this show called: Design for Life..
A Designer called: Phillipe Starck is on the search for the best Product Designer in UK..
Pretty cool and inspiring..

btw, Completed 2k8 & 2k9....
Planning to learn Adobe Illustrator next...

Photoshop Revisited

I'm a novice when it comes to Photoshop, but decided to give it a go, nonetheless.

And it's actually fun.. (Though it can quickly get frustrating at times). Here's why...

Yeah, drew a quick sketch to display in the bottom right section. And it needed a bit of PS.

Looks pretty cool. I think I'll spam this section next =D

A Superhero Addiction

Luckily, came across this thing called "Hand Lettering"..

Yeah, seems that this is the actual-phrase for those cool looking "graphic" letter-design styles..
I used to refer to it as "Typography", sometimes "Calligraphy", but it is actually Hand-Lettering...

Some interesting-articles & reads:

- Fonts: Technicality (here)
- Hand-Lettering Tutorials (by Marzi Pan)
- Creativity-Tutorial (here)

Quotes (for future sketches =) ):

    - Why do we fall? so that we can learn to pick ourselves up.
    - Wind blows the hardest the closer you get to the mountaintop

Hellboy & Wolverine
Was watching a tutorial on "Line-Weights", when I started doodling. The resultant was pretty nice. So, I decided to "detail" it.

Also, tried to create a sketch with the "foreshortening" effect.

I needed an easy character, so decided to go with my favorite: Samurai Jack for this.

Used basic perspective for the sketch and some Hand-Lettering skills, that I recently acquired.

This also gave me a chance to re-use my old aquarelle and usual color pencils. And, some sketch pens.

Btw, before I forget, some stuff that I need to go through, this week:
- Anatomy:  Deep dive (My Drawing Tutorials and revisit Alphonso)
- "How I shade" by Mark Crilley
- Complete 2k6 (Going rather well, I can say)
- Redo D'source.
- Logo/ Section-art for "A Stable World". xD

Was watching some videos by Jim Lee and one particular video by Humberto Ramos sketching Spider-man. So, decided to go for it:

Btw, Favorites, this week:
Music: Linkin Park - In the End (oh wow, such a new song.. Shuddup !!)
Movie: Ex Machina
Tv-Show: Daredevil
Hero [DoTA]: Ursa & Anti-Mage
Artist: Marzi Pan & Humberto Ramos

Until Next Week or earlier ! xD
