A Genuine Excuse

Ok, here I go...

Had to take a break due to some health problems and some travelling..

Man-o-man... I really am not ready to be a traveler....

I've learnt that travelling can really f#&k you up... especially if you're as static as I am...

I can only remember a few sketches that I did since the last time that I posted...  Maybe this is coz I haven't been very productive lately...

Have been focusing more on improving my Inkscape skillset.
These are a set of water-bubbles rendered on Inkscape and I really enjoyed doing 'em.

I've officially abandoned #Inktober... I'm thinking of making a new book and starting #Sketchember... xD   ok, I agree it sounds lame..

Anyways, I've had a couple of sketch-ideas related to one's feelings on falling sick..
Guess where I got the ideas from... :/

Watched AntMan and I must say: This movie kicks ass !!

I'm completely hyped for 2016 and the wide range of comic book adaptions to live-action movies..

I'm also reading SAGA... which is another kickass comic that I've ever come across..
"The Stalk" is my fav character from this...

Anyways, back to my mission statement - "Gotta be more active".

December has to got be me focusing on Inkscape, more sketches and Bootstrap.. ;D

And then there was chaos

Guess I didn't sketch/ post anything last week.
#Inktober is actually over but not for me, it isn't.

True Detective: The show that I cannot stop talking abt.
Matthew Mcconaughey plays Rust, a captivating character.

The continuous shot sequence involving him portraying an undercover drug-addict aka Crash was one of my favorite moments in TV-shows, till date.

There was a lot of renovation work at my place which meant no PC, no art, nothing.
This was pretty much how I felt. Bottling up my addictions, rage and fear.

Sketched the Grim-Reaper while watching Constantine.

Absolutely love this artist called: kerbyrosanes who does insanely complex yet funny doodles. Tried something in his style.

Came across this big-ass spider today and I just had to sketch the creepy guy.

Wanted to test out my new Sakura - Manga Kit, and I must say I love the Brush-pen.
This illustration is abt friends who turn foes, as in any bollywood movie. lol

A couple of random sketches, just to prevent tapping out from this hobby.

The fact that I nearly spent 5k on these drawing tools dawned over me today.
Here's a pic of the entire kit placed in the crappiest closet ever xD

At the moment, binge watching a couple of shows: Utopia, Constantine, True Detective, Fargo, Rick & Morty and now: Narcos. Which means: More characters to sketch from !

Mr Robot and Terminator

A lot of stuff to think about...

Where do I begin ?

Ha ha, this is the narration style from my current favorite show: Mr. Robot

What an amazing show, Not 1 but 3 Twists, towards the end of the season !!

Also, loved the piano cover of "Where is my Mind?".

Anyways, have been  sketching diligently, this week.

Inspired by Angry birds & the feeling that I get everyday while leaving for work, did this:

Ghost B.C and Friday vibes inspired me to copy paste their Album-cover, at work:

Watched Terminator: Genisys and I must say: This movie r$%ped the Terminator Franchise, pretty bad. Shaken and Depressed, I ended up watching T2 again.

Until next week: Hasta La Vista, Baby !!!

Inking is Easy

Had thought of painting daily or building an android app..
Wanted to do something creative and be productive every day...
Being aimless and lazy can be really tiring...

The most successful of all these ideas till date has been: Inktober..
Honestly, Inking comes easily to me and I've been having a lot of fun doing it (The only thing that matters!)

Must say: I skipped a day or two, but I'm still pretty regular at this..

Although, there's another thing: Not so low on Ideas anymore...
I started this blog to note down ideas for sketches...

Coz I could never come up with an idea once I sat down to doodle..
The blog is now a place to save my sketches..

What I Feel on Mondays

Almost gave up...
This Sketch, almost, did not happen !
#Inktober almost Failed :D

But, somehow I regained my enthusiasm and sketched this out..
Playing with a lot of vertical shading, these days ...

The Wolf represents the beastly Monday & I'm supposed to be the Handsome dude, that's brushing his teeth whilst anticipating his doom...

Man vs Beast

Had a lot of automated work today, which means more sketch practice at work.

I must say: Vertical shading really turns the sketch fancy.

Also: #Inktober 3: A simple sketch of a lion battling a man.

Crows near House

Was throwing bread to a friendly lazy Pariah Dog...

Suddenly, a "murder" of crows gathered...

Pretty interesting actually, to see crows behave like puppies...

And, this was officially the beginning of #Inktober..

Gotta do 2 more sketches today to be on the same page as everyone..

So, here goes nothing...

Darth Vader on a Long Weekend

T'was a long weekend... In other words, it was a sloth fest...

But my day changed soon enough,  after adding a second monitor...

Huge underestimation !

Spent an entire day trying to setup the new system and Researching various ports on my GFX card..

After a long struggle, finally got it working...

My original Monitor is now connected via mini HDMI port and the new one over a DVI-I port..

Works flawlessly though. Hopefully, I can now be more productive and learn some PS & AI.

On an unrelated note, I've never watched Star Wars, ever..

The first movie came out in 1977 and I knew my patience would run thin, whilst watching this one.

However, "An Empire Strikes Back" was a turning point...

The great reveal by Darth Vader is really awesome...

Needless to say, I had to try painting Vader..

Got an idea, though:

To create a graphic novel with as less text, as possible..

Anyways, got a well deserved laziness filled unproductive long weekend.. (with a bit of cycling xD)

This reminds me: Another long weekend's up, the coming week...

Let's see how it goes..

A Forgotten Week

Glad I found a few sketches done over the last week...

Have to post this and backdate it.. xD

First off: Silicon Valley, An amazing show ...

Really awe-inspiring to create fun apps and work in a start-up..

Anyways, did a sketch of my fav. characters from the show, on my Moleskine...

Did a Couple of sketches at work:

Last week, while travelling to work, came across a risky situation involving a JCB and a road, under-construction...

Slipknot and a Gloomy Weekend

Had been insanely lazy, this weekend..

Towards the end, I guess I started feeling a bit active..

Realizing the onset of my impending doom: The Monday !

I need to be really active, from the upcoming weeks...

So decided to listen to a bit of rock, to end this gloomy Sunday..

Eventually, I was watching Slipknot Videos...

So, doodled this out:

This reminds me of an incomplete Slipknot sketch, that's on my original Large Sketchbook...

Did this last year... Man, I'm truly Lazy !!

To reiterate: I need to be more active! Art really makes me positive...

Note to Self: More cycling and more Art, PLEASE !!

My Bucket List

                                                                                                                                         * Image copied

Have never traveled so much, but my attitude towards Travel seem to be taking a turn..

&, I dunno why.. Lately, have been dreaming of travelling to beautiful places..

Posting this to make a list of beautiful & affordable places that I can actually try visiting.

Let's see if I can make it a reality.

1. Saturday Night Market, Goa

2. Agonda Beach, Goa
3. Cola Beach, Goa

2 Jokers in a Pack

Wanted to sketch this legendary anarchist.

Portrayed by Heath Legder and Jared Leto (soon).

Also, did a worst ever illustration of the Jared Leto's Joker.

Hopefully, I'll redo it someday, in a better way.

DoTA 2 Responses

Came up with this idea, a couple of days ago.

Wanted to illustrate simple and creative sketches of DoTA 2 heroes' responses, using various outline shapes.

Have grown to enjoy using Aquarelles to paint, due to so many elegant colors and a smooth finish, on adding water.

Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max - Fury Road:
The best action-movie that I watched this year, Hands down !

Did ya know this is the 4th movie in its Franchise ?

Kinda hard to recollect, what I wanted to post abt., as it's been around 2 weeks, since the drawing/ movie..

Wanted to actually draw one of the cool Monster Trucks in the movie..

But, ended up with Tom Hardy's mugshot, instead...

Will be working on a DBZ - Mad Max Crossover art, next..

Every Problem has a Solution ?

My Stylus has been acting really strange, this entire year.
It would start writing even before touching the Note's surface. This would get really frustrating.

After smashing the Stylus's tip into the floor a couple of times, searched online and found a solution. Tightened the Stylus's Potentiometer and the lame-animations were back in business.

Awesome things happened in DoTA2 today.
Fortunately, captured high quality footage of the entire thing. xD

Played as  Leshrac, baited an enemy Pudge's Hook and Force-staffed out at the last millisecond.

Played as Storm Spirit and used Ball-Lightening to dodge an enemy Lion's Finger of Death.

Working on a few paintings right now..
